Shipwrecked

Country Sweden

These words are taken from „Fast Violent Noise“, the opening track on the new Shipwrecked album entitled „The Last pagans“ – their only and last full-length recording. The quote says a lot about this record, the motives behind Shipwrecked, and it’s aging horde. The LP, 21 songs in total is pure assault from start to finish. „No prisoners“ hardcore shaped in the fires of old Boston, early England and the dark lands of heavy metal.

A grim nordic history, isolation, an obsession with old seven inches, hate, friendship, pride and long dark seasons – this is what it all boils down to. Think Angus Young joins the army and afterwards starts a band somewhere in snowy Scandinavia. Not many thought this record would ever see the light of day. First rehearsal with everyone present since the EP took six years. The boys are still spread out all over Scandinavia (and working all over the world). So it’s easy to say that it was hard getting them together… but it was worth it. So many bands ignore the lack of creativity, energy and rage… and just continue to tour and release records. The result is often sad. With Shipwrecked it’s the other way around. Die hard fans of old hardcore, and of course, especially that old Boston sound should be thankful Ollie, Klas, Jon and Joar felt obligated to swing their battle axes one last time.
